Art Classes for Children (8 - 17yo)

New term project: Animals in Art

This term is dedicated to the study of animals as a subject in fine art — exploring not only their appearance, but their presence, movement, and character.

Working across a curated selection of professional materials, students will experiment with acrylic, oil painting, soft pastels and watercolour — developing sensitivity to colour, texture, light and atmosphere.

Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of animal anatomy in a clear and artistic way:

  • understanding structure and proportions
  • observing movement and posture
  • simplifying complex forms building expressive and convincing animal images

Students will develop:
  • confidence across multiple mediums,
  • understanding of form, anatomy, and composition,
  • sensitivity to colour, light, and texture,
  • the ability to create refined, exhibition-quality artworks.

Term: April 30, 2026 - June 27, 2026
