A Fresh Perspective

on the Familiar

Art lectures offer more than just an introduction to new artists—they provide a chance to see familiar works and creators through a new lens. They help us uncover hidden meanings not only in art but in the world around us and better understand human relationships and emotions.

Art teaches us to see beyond the surface. It reveals the underlying processes of society, connects events, and helps us grasp what motivates people. Surprisingly, art develops both critical thinking and empathy simultaneously. These skills naturally transfer into everyday life, enriching our understanding and experience.

A Fresh Perspective

on the Familiar

By engaging with art, we encounter the thoughts, emotions, and experiences of many others, which leads to deeper self-awareness. Art reflects the times and society, offering us a way a view from a distance. It also gives us a chance to live through countless lives within our own.

Art connects us to kindred spirits, even if they lived centuries ago on the other side of the world. It’s a dialogue—with ourselves, the world, and higher concepts like beauty, justice, and meaning.

Meet our art teacher

My name is Daria Sulgane, a proud mom of three and the founder of Art Classes with Daria, joyously celebrating our tenth anniversary in 2023. Originally from Latvia, I brought my artistic journey, adorned with degrees in Classical Fine Art and Graphic Design, to our cherished home in Australia.

For the past 12 years, I've poured my heart into teaching both kids and adults in the enchanting city of Perth, Western Australia. In this time, I've witnessed the magical, transformative power of art and had the privilege of guiding countless students.
